Introduction

When speaking of mineral and coal mining, there are two sectors to be concerned: the forestry sector and the mining sector itself. Both sectors arise a lot of legal issues in mining practices that need to be understood by the mining business owner and mining law practitioners.

The Enforcement and legal certainty in the mining sector, overlapping, as well as the difficulty of obtaining permission to use & borrow of forestry area, spatial plan in relation with coal & mining, update of the renegotiation of mining contracts and the harmonization of national and local regulations related to mining have always been a major issue related to the mining law.

Furthermore, discourse of Mining Law revision that has been launched since the birth of this law is currently more and more widely voiced by experts mining institution, in addition to the impact of dispute authority of state institutions (SKLN) in the field of mining on legal certainty in the mining sector. Therefore, a dept understanding and knowledge of the said issues and its solution is absolutely necessary for legal consultants and practitioners of the mining sector.

At Glance of The 2nd Mineral and Coal Mining Legal & Business Forum & Expo 2012

After successfully organizing the same event in the previous year, ICBLS, organizer of training events, workshops and seminars in the fields of mining and natural resources, re- entered the same event in 2012 with more speakers, more issues, more comprehensive mining law discussions and more exotic venue that is at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel in Kuta Bali which will also be accompanied by organizing the mining exhibition. Currently, the forum will take a theme " 3 (three) years) Mining Law and Its Implementing (Update & Review( and the Legal Certainty in Mining Business".

Reflecting the same event of the last year in which the participants are almost equally between the mining legal consultants and the mining practitioners, these events, in addition to providing update of current regulatory and legal issues in the mining sector, it is also expected to become a networking meeting between and among the mining legal practitioners and the mining businessmen, so that they can work together in conducting the best mining practice which comply with the relevant law and regulation. The program in this event will be designed to deliver a comprehensive understanding of mineral and coal mining law and mineral and coal mining business by inviting and presenting speakers who are very competent in the mining field. Furthermore, the participants also can enjoy the Bali traditional dances and the beauty of Bali especially Kuta Beach which is considered as one of the most exotic places in the world.
